We sailed from Santa Cruz around 6 PM headed for Cadiz, Spain and a day a half later we arrived in Cadiz.  We received a very nice welcome with a fire boat spray an apron of water for our entry into the harbor.  Carmen was born and raised only 25 land miles from Cadiz. It was nice to be back again.  Carmen sister Ica, niece Mari Carmen and nephew Esteban were waiting on the pier for us.  We took off several loaded suitcase at Cadiz. The next thing we did after unloading the luggage, meeting Carmen's family was to go to the city's main market and have hot churros and coffee.  These are some of the best churros in the world!!!! Churros are deep fried dough several hot with coffee or hot chocolate dipped in a little sugar or chocolate or just with the coffee!!!!  When we are visiting Spain, almost every morning I will have churros and coffee.  After the churros we went over to Puerto de Santa Maria to say hi to the folks.  We had ordered some airplane tickets and Carmen sister Conchi had picked them up for us.  We picked up the tickets, had coffee with everyone we could find and headed back to the ship.  Ica, Mari Carmen and Estaban joined us onboard to take a tour of the ship.  We enjoy a nice lunch on board the ship.  The ship will be stopping next in Palma de Mall orca and we will be getting off there.  We were leaving most of our luggage here because we will be flying back here after our stay in Palma.  Cadiz is a beautiful city and is the oldest city on the Atlantic Oceana.  I believe there are three cities here, one build on top of the other.  You really want to spend some time here.  The main Catholic cathedral is spectacular and if you can, arranges your time to stop by a visit it.  The shopping in Cadiz is some of the best in Europe.  Only, like anywhere else, it helps to know the town so you a can go to the right location for shopping.  Below are two maps, one shows the closeness of El Puerto de Santa Maria to Cadiz.  The second map is of downtown Cadiz and the best shopping street being Calle Pelota in Cadiz, I am sure others might give you a different street because Cadiz is a fantastic place to shop.
