We had a nice dinner with our table friends on May the 6th. The next morning we would be headed for Rome and leaving the Carnival Liberty. All in all, it had been a fantistic cruise. We got up in the morning after sending almost all of our belonging off at midnight. Sorry to leave our new home but ready for the sites of Rome. We had breakfast and waited until our number was called to debark the ship. I had arranged for a driver and a van thru Papillon. I had used Papillon in Florance, also. The service Papillon provides is far better than what you get from the ship. The only problem is you need a few couples to share in the price. There were four couples from our dinner table including us and the cost was about $75 for each person. We were picked up at the pier and with our bagages and each couple was taken to their hotels to check-in. After that, our driver took us on a tour around Roma. He took us to a little place for lunch were we paid for pizza by the kilo. It was very nice and almost the best food we got while in Rome. We toured as many sites as possible, by Stephen & Julie Walsh listed, because they were leave the next morning, May 8th. Charles & Maia Petty and Thomas and Cynthia Fry were staying until May 10th. We were leaving on May 11th. Back to our first day in Rome, our driver took us all around and let all of us off at about 6 PM near the Spanish steps. The whole group did a little shopping and stop at a sidewalk cafe for dinner. It had been a beautiful day. |
