Dinner on the Caribbean

Caribbean Princess
December 2, 2007 |
| We got up in the middle of the night to catch a 5:40
AM, U S Airways to Charlotte. At 7:55 AM we were on a flight to Fort
Lauderdale from Charlotte. Needless to say, we arrival for boarding
with the first group. The best of this cruise was the dinning room.
Below is our waiter and assistance, I am sorry I forgot his whole name but
Manolo was
the best waiter we have every had on a cruise. Manolo was from Portugal and
was headed home after our cruise. |

| From Fort Lauderdale we headed south, south east to
Saint Maarten. After two beautiful days at sea we arrival in Saint
Maarten. This was my first cruise after falling and breaking my back
on August 9, 2007. I can say that my back and right wrist were still
giving problems. Just to make things worst, the mattresses were
completely wore out. Numerous cruiser were complaining and it look
like they were moving the mattresses between cabins. Where are you going to
get a 100 mattresses when your 300 miles from any port. But this was
the only problem we had on the whole trip. Saint Maarten, the Dutch side of the island, was the
cleanest and for us the best. The board walk next
to the beach was clean and easy to get to. Just after you got off the
Caribbean Princess, there was a smaller boat that for 3 dollars would
take you to town and back as many times as you wanted to go.
This boat dropped you right on the board walk. All the stories
started just one block from the beach and ran along a road that was
one block off the beach. Shopping was very easy. We did
most of our purchases here and spent some time on the beach. |

| Carmen and I celebrated our 47th Wedding Anniversary with our
daughter - in - law, Nancy; our son, James Stephen; and our very, very
good friends of over 43 years; the Richardson's, Mercedes and Charles.
The Caribbean Princess is a beautiful ship and we would cruise on it
numerous times. |

| From beautiful Saint Maarten we went to Saint Thomas.
This was the 1st time we went into there new port south of town.
It was just opening and most of the stores at the port were not yet
completed. After spending most of our money in Saint Maarten we
had just a little left for Saint Thomas. Saint Thomas has a very
good flee market downtown and we did some shopping there. There
is a beautiful church within two blocks of the market, if you have the
time stop in, you will enjoy it. |

| As you can see from one of the pictures above, I was not a ball
of fire on this cruise. I was just very, very lucky to be on
this cruise. Enjoying the company of family and friends. |

What a fantastic stop, I believe Carmen enjoyed
this stop the best...... Princess had the beach set up and food
cooking. You can not go to the beach and such beautiful sand and
have a fantastic lunch. If you every get a change to stop at
Princess Cays don't miss it...... We would of taken the
same cruise back to back just to enjoy Princess Cays. |
