Or first port of call was Cannes France. A good history of Cannes can be found at the hyper link which is available in English and French, Cannes began some where around 204 BC and has got better each year. We anchored out at Cannes and took the small boat into the shore. The beach at Cannes goes from miles and miles, and where we came a shore was about 3 miles from the main part of town. We walk around, took one of Carmen's short cuts, then had to go back and follow the people to the main part of town. We stopped a park right before the main beach that honored Charles De Gaulle, we think he is buried there. Walking around Cannes is very easy and you see a lot of beautiful building and parks. We stopped at several cafe's for ice cream, coffee and beer. It was about normal, prices where not as high as Virginia Beach but a lot higher than some locations in Spain. |
